VYV was founded on the fundamental belief that the political process is designed to work for the people.
This means policies and laws cannot exist outside of the people they are designed to serve. VYV combines arts, culture, and music for one purpose--to inspire black and brown youth to amplify their voices through their votes.

Reforms and revolutions, just like politics, do not happen without people. Political systems are made up of people, and without participation in those systems, the needs of people will be ignored.
